29-year-old Lilian was diagnosed by the University of Malaya that she has intellectual disability and autism when she was 3 years old.
Lilian’s IQ stays at the age of 3 and is unable to control her emotion. She will throw anything around, push and pinch people, and run over when her emotion is unstable. Hence, we have to lock the door to prevent her from an accident regardless is at her home or center.
As Lilian’s IQ only stays at the age of 3, she can’t speak and only can express her needs by “squeaking”. She will take off her clothes for no reason and defecate naked which makes her parents heart-breaking.
Her mother took care of Lilian when she was young until her mental breakdown.
Lilian also suffers from Epilepsy and is required send to the hospital if is serious during an epileptic seizure. The mother also told us about the period she used to take care of Lilian in the past, she was mentally breakdown in the early stage.
As she is the only child, her parents are reluctant to send her to the disabled center. However, they are both aged and incapable to take care of Lilian further but only can send her to the charity center, hoping that she would have a better place to live.
They came from Klang, Selangor and Lilian has been sent to one of the drop-in center in Klang. However, the parents took her home and take care of themselves as they cannot afford to pay the fee, which increases every year. In addition, the living conditions and the hygiene level are poor in the said center.
SoServ Welfare Malaysia is Lilian’s Haven
However, this is not a long-term plan. The parents getting older and incapable to take care of their daughter anymore. When they know that our center is providing free shelter, they decided to send Lilian in and hope we can take care of her.
In SoServ Welfare Malaysia, we treat every child as our own kid. Lilian is accustomed to life in the center and she likes to stick with one of our caregivers, Maria.
Whenever Maris is doing the housework and not beside Lilian, Lilian will cry and look for Maria’s company. Maria will cheer her up and sing for her.

Lilian is unable to take care of herself, we will feed her 4 meals a day and she needs to change her diaper 4 times daily. To have a healthier Lilian, we will feed her vitamins and supplements.
Lilian’s monthly expenses for meals, health products, diapers, and daily necessities:

RM824(Not included other expenses such as medical expenses, utilities, rent, wages of caregiver, and miscellaneous. )
SoServ Welfare Malaysia is a non-profit charitable organization with no fixed source of donations. Our monthly expenses are about RM25,038 we are relying on public donations for us to continue taking care of these unfortunate disabled children.
