SoServ Welfare Malaysia is facing financial difficulties of RM25,000 monthly expenses due to the decrease in the number of visitors after 20 people were quarantined from COVID-19. We need your help!

SoServ Welfare Malaysia is currently taking in 13 disabled people from different states and we are fully responsible for their meals, daily necessities, diapers, and medical expenses. Most of the children are intellectual disabilities, down’s syndrome, paralyzed, autistic, hyperactive, etc. where they are unable to take care of themselves, eat or go to the toilet. Hence, we have hired 4 caregivers to take care of them all day.

Most of them came from poor single-parent families and their mother is unable to take care of them as need to work or their parents are aged and incapable to take care of them anymore. The parents have no other choice but only can send their children to SoServ Welfare Malaysia for us to take care of.

Most of our children’s families have been truly tragic life experiences, for instance, the parents could not work to earn enough income as they have to take care of the disabled child, and either their relatives or neighbors would lend them money. As a welfare center, our objective is clear, we must help the less fortunate families so they can live a normal lifestyle like the others.

They are all the vulnerable groups in this society and we do not want to increase their burden, hence we have decided to provide shelter and take care of them free of charge.

All the appointments have been cancelled due to positive cases in our center

However, all our children and staff tested positive in March 2022 and the center has closed for 21 days for quarantine. Even though the center reopened for visits in April, the visit appointments were less than 5. This situation has worried us that it would be difficult to maintain the operation due to insufficient funds to care take of the children.

It is not easy to maintain a lovely home where the operating cost is the main issue. Besides, we need to pay for the utilities, rent, and miscellaneous on top of the operating cost. From the day we pledged to take in and care of them, we went all out to continue operating the center.

We look forward to your visit or donating online
